Sorry for not posting in French, I can speak and read it a bit with a little help from Google Translate, but my writing is horrible.
Did you try the 6m with or without the windows?
I am NOT a teamrider or whatsoever, but the shop where I buy most of my gear let me demo lots of gear, smart because quite often it ends in buying new stuff
. After a 2week demo them with and without windows I ended up buying the 6+5+4 without windows.
With the window it is a nice wing, but rather heavy, 2.7kg for the 5m WITH windows, but without its 2.2kg. Not as light as a Strike V2, but it looks like it is build to last longer as well.
The 6m with windows felt for me a bit too heavy, too soft and delayed/less effective in pumping, +/- the same as my former Duotone Slick 6m (that i really didnt like). The 6m WITHOUT windows was faster, more effective when pumping and more grunt. With both 6m It FEELS like that the Mantis V2 has a wider wingspan as the Duotone Slick, but when I overlap them, it is just a couple of centimeters difference, not as much as it feels in light wind, once flying it stays up a bit like the Fone CWC.
What I really really like on the Mantis V2 besides the rigid but not too stiff handles is the stiff front handle. It helps a lot with controlling the wing when surfing.
For me it is the best surfing 6m wing I tried so far, mostly because of that handle.
The 5m is on the wide size as well when pumping in low wind, but less noticeable as with the 6m, and on a wave or when tacking it is for me a dream. Enough power for my 93kg to get quickly going, but still very nice behaving and 100% neutral on the wave. On pretty much every aspect a better wing as my former Smik/Takoon V1 5m, Smik V2 5m and Duotone Slick5m.
Again, i,m not a teamrider, have to pay a LOT for my gear, but i,m really enthusiastic about them. If i have to spend a lot of money I want a well made product that looks like to gonna last a while and surfs as neutral as possible.
The funny thing is that before I demo-ed them i was absolutely NOT into Cabrinha, I have a wavesailing background and no fan of kiting, because most kiters where I sail are absolute a##holes, so no warm feelings for a kite brand, but I,m really impressed by there gear.
btw: the Dakine wing with window is 100% the same as the Mantis V2.
